  • Look in the mirror multiple times a day for several days, the same type of mirror. From what you can see there is more than just your physical features. Such as the expression on your face. What more do you notice about yourself from the many times that you looked in the mirror?

  • Look at what Allah swears by in the Qur’an. What significance do one or more of these have in your life?

  • Read Qur’an and Hadith looking out for the theme of patience.

  • Read Qur’an and Hadith and look out for the theme of wealth and children.

  • Think of how you would imagine judgement day. What matters can you think of that would be discussed between people? What differences do you think there are between how people discuss those matters now?

  • Learn the names of the chapters in the Qur’an. Make notes about each chapter. When not looking at your notes, think of which chapters you can remember and what from your notes you can remember about that chapter. Look back at your notes and think about why some points stood out more than the others.

  • Think about the categories of provisions that each person has. Time, health, wealth and knowledge. Describe what you have from each of these categories. For each category, try to think of a person who has more provision and then again for a person who has less provision for each category.

  • Think about the categories of provisions that each person has. Time, health, wealth and knowledge. Describe what you have from each of these categories at three different points in your life.

  • What comes to mind when you think of the words role and responsibility?

  • Think of some of the interactions you had yesterday and how these have impacted your overall knowledge and judgement.

  • We are diverse in interests and have daily duties. In either a day or over a different period of time what do you do that are your duties and what have been actions towards your interests as an individual.

  • Read the names of Allah. Which standout to you? Think of how these are different from people. Think of how these impact people’s interactions.

  • Think of the different categories of affection that are prescribed in Islam. Time, touch, gifting, service, words of affection/affirmation. Which is of least interest to you and if negotiating, what would you want in exchange to overcome it to some degree.

  • People are said to not be a match for one another in this life and that only in Heaven are people reformed to be a match for one another. What characteristics do you think people have that you would change to make them better? What characteristics would you not change?

  • Think of the two extremes to avoid, stingy and wasteful. What choices did you make yesterday and how could you have been more towards the side of stingy or more towards the side of wasteful.

  • Think of your current possessions. Think if you were at a shop would you buy it again or would you willingly exchange money for it. Think of the same possessions but now if they were gifted to you by a friend would you accept it? would you use it?
